Beginning yesterday, AIM 6.8 clients couldn’t log in through Symantec IM Manager. This was caused by a change in AOLs SSL certificate for kdc.uas.aol.com and IM Manager could not longer validate the cert. IM Manager is an enterprise IM security and logging product.
A workaround is posted on the IM Manager knowledgebase.
Roger,
We just got AIM 6.8 working with our IM Manager 8.4. However, we’re experiencing some weird problems with the emotion icons (emoticons) in the IM window. The emotion icons will come up with a RED X instead of the smiley image. Do you have this problem?
I haven’t noticed it but I dont use it that much. If we have the same problem no one has reported it.
Have you seen this KB – http://service1.symantec.com/support/ent-gate.nsf/854fa02b4f5013678825731a007d06af/154b0b57e92ceb8488257341006a9f1c?OpenDocument
No solution there unfortunately.
If I VPN in to work tonight, I’ll try emoticons in AIM and see what happens.
